Entre várias novidades vamos ter finalmente o Lotus 49. Em principio este e o Skip (que também vai ter o novo "tyre model") vão ser as minhas escolhas para a época que se avizinha.

Há muita malta com intenções de competir com estes carros?

No iRacing tens sempre malta com vontade de competir em séries como essa, mas vais ter um problema: O carro (Lotus 49) vai ser lançado com problemas já identificados por eles, o que vai fazer com que nas primeiras semanas a excitação de ter um carro novo encha as corridas, mas depois vem o desânimo pois não gostam disto ou daquilo e a série comece a morrer um pouco.

O skip não, tem e terá sempre imensa gente....já é costume !!

Miguel, referes-te à dificuldade de condução esperada no Lotus ou existem problemas com o modelo que possam fazer com que alguns se desinteressem pelo carro? se for apenas a dificuldade acredito que pelo menos os que "transitaram" via GPL não se deixem abater com isso. Julgo no entanto que nesta série o fosso entre os rápidos e os demais se vai cavar ainda de forma mais evidente e talvez desmotive alguns.

Tens ai a transcrição do que o DK disse no fórum acerca do carro:

The Lotus 49 has been just about as hard to develop and release as it is to drive. Just as it is a great tool (albeit a sharp one) for teaching good smooth driving habits, it has been a good tool for teaching us about flaws in our simulation. Because it is lightweight, with no downforce, and lots of power, it has tested the tires more than almost any car we’ve developed. Its development has led to a lot of improvements over the past eight months in the tire model, some of which you have already experienced. There are more improvements on the way. For now, even though the newer tire code isn’t quite finished yet, we have decided it’s far enough along to let you try couple of cars with it: the Lotus 49, and the Skip Barber Formula Car. These will both be available in the new build which should be out next week.

There are some known issues—the tires don’t get warm enough, and the skidding and smoke are unfinished, among other things—but we have been enjoying driving these tires, and we hope you will too. They are a work in progress, though, and should improve even more as we finish them up.

One last note: the Lotus 49 is a beast. You will have to relearn the meaning of smooth control inputs, but if you take the time to do that, it is also a blast.

Este é o problema com o carro quando do DK fez este anúncio oficial no fórum...Agora vamos ver o que acontece quando o carro sair, em termos de participação.

Também já ouvi dizer que o NTM que vai sair é uma versão Beta deles para alguns carros, e isso pode trazer problemas...

Para mim, o maior problema do Lotus vai ser não ter pistas decentes!!!

Afinal, nos anos 60 e 70 as pistas tinham menos aderência, eram mais rápidas e menos técnicas

For those of you who may be new to iRacing, a number of the original Grand Prix Legends staff still work with us here at iRacing. All of us at the office enjoyed seeing what 15 years of progress looks like.

Tony reminded me that the driver in both videos was iRacing World Championship driver Greger Huttu. He actually saved the video from back then to use on this new video.
