ArrayAfter a long period of (almost) no activity, we are now soon ready to wake up from our sleep and start some racing! Incidentally, the LFS S2 Alpha came out just 9 days ago ;D
For our first S2 season we have chosen the trio of fast GTR class cars - the FXO GTR, the FZ GTR and the XR GTR.
Races will have a duration of 2 hours and will take place every other wednesday night (starting in the region of 20:30-21:00 CET). Thanks to hosting help from the ESL we are able to run 3 full 20 player grids! The season consists of 5 events + 1 special team event at the end of the season. The 5 normal events will feature configurations from 5 different track areas (Aston, Blackwood, Kyoto, South City, Westhill).
To avoid race night getting too long, qualification will be done in the weeks between races. This qual session will determine both your server placement for the next race (acting like hotlap prequal of old) and grid position on your server.
For some of you 2 hour races may sound too long, this I understand. However, the long races have always been our thing, the name of our league implies it, and with new features of S2 it's a natural move for us. For those who think it's too long, I suggest you consider other leagues with race lenghts closer to your wishes. For those who think 2 hours is too short....stay tuned!
Depending on interest we will decide on a pre-season qualification. For now, our thoughts are too allow up to 80 drivers in the bi-weekly qualification sessions, and the 60 fastest of those will be allowed to race.[/quote]
