After a winter of rather dull uncertainty with the team refusing to say a deal was done and the driver saying he would certainly be driving, MF1 Racing has finally confirmed Portugal's Tiago Monteiro. What remains unclear is why the charades were necessary but one must presume that this was due to the fact that the money was not in the bank. Having said that, this does not compute when one considers that the team announced Nicky Pastorelli as its test driver but has since forgotten about him and signed several others.
Monteiro did a solid job last year in his first season in F1 but it remains difficult to properly assess his talent although seeing him up against Christijan Albers will help.[/quote]
